Gloria Dei’s beautiful Tree of Celebration was designed and constructed by Sam Sutton in memory of long-time member, Dr. Dave Folkestad.  It is a metal sculptural work constructed from 1/8” steel in five three-dimensional sections.  It was installed in our Narthex just before Easter in 2006 and was dedicated on All Saints Sunday, November 5, 2006.  The Tree of Celebration is a means by which individuals and events important to the lives of Gloria Dei members (and non-members alike) may be celebrated, honored and memorialized.  Copper leaves are added to the tree, specially engraved, for a gift / donation of $125 (this includes the cost of the engraved leaf and an additional amount as a gift to a special fund).  There is a special Memorial Book by the tree describing each leaf and the occasion on which it was donated.  If you are interested it donating a leaf, please contact the church office.
